Leopards of Yala - No sightings for the Last two years

Pattiya Wala 2:3 Female (2015) [YF 23/Patty]

Pattiya Wala 2:3 female was one of the most frequently seen female leopards around Mahaseelawa and Jamburagala road during the period of 2015-2016, with her sister, the Pattiya Wala 2:2 female.

Pattiya Wala 2:2 Female (2015) [YF 26/Ally]

Pattiya Wala 2:2 female was one of the most confident females found around the Mahaseelawa and Jamburagala areas in the period of 2015-2016. She was born in late 2015, with her sister, the Pattiya Wala 2:3 female. Their mother is the Mahaseelawa 2:2 female. This is her first known litter.

Patanangala 3:3 Male (2010)

Patanangala 3:3 male was born in mid-2010, around Patanangala (Padi Kema) with his two siblings. In May 2012, he was seen around Meynert Wewa which became his last recorded sighting.

Mōdharagala 3:3 Male

This male was first seen and photographed in February 2011, on the Mōdharagala mating with the Mōdharagala 1:1 female. Surprisingly, that has been the only confirmed sighting of this male. It was a well-built leopard, a truly magnificent specimen.

Mating Gala 6:5 male was first photographed as a cub in March 2017, at the Gōnagala – Jamburagala Road around Mating Gala, with his brother, the Mating Gala 3:3 male.

Mating Gala 3:3 Male (2016/17) [YM 22/Ethan]

Mating Gala 3:3 male was first photographed as a cub in March 2017, at the Gōnagala area with his brother, the Mating Gala 6:5 male. He moved towards the Palatupana Entrance area once he was mature enough.

Mahaseelawa 3:2 male 1 was first photographed in June 2017, around Mahaseelawa with his brother, the Mahaseelawa 3:2 male 1. Their mother was the Mahaseelawa 2:2 female who’s fairly shy.

This Mahaseelawa 3:2 male 1 was first photographed in June 2017, around Mahaseelawa with his brother, the Mahaseelawa 3:2 male 2. Their mother was the Mahaseelawa 2:2 female who’s fairly shy.

Mahaseelawa 2:2 Female (2010-2019) [YF 09/Rekha]

Mahaseelawa 2:2 female was first seen and photographed in 2010. She gave birth to her first known litter of two female cubs in 2015 around the areas of Mahaseelawa and Pattiya Wala. She mothered a litter of two male cubs in 2017, around Mahaseelawa.
