His mother is <\/mark><a href=\"https:\/\/leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/river-valley-21-female\/\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">River Valley 2:1 Female<\/mark><\/strong><\/a><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">, and this marks her first known litter.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">From an early age, this young male exhibited a shy and reserved demeanor, much like his mother. However, over time, he gradually became more comfortable around vehicles, showing increasing confidence.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">In July 2024, a fascinating behavioral observation was made. While River Valley 3:4 Male was nearby, his mother, <\/mark><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/river-valley-21-female\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">River Valley 2:1 Female<\/mark><\/a><\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">, was seen mating with the dominant <\/mark><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/lolugas-wala-43-male\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Lolugas Wala Male<\/mark><\/a><\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> at Kotabendi Wewa, hinting at possible shifts in the area&#8217;s social dynamics.<\/mark><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>River Valley 3:4, a young male leopard born in early 2023, was first photographed in May of that year in the Kotabendi Wewa area.
