This behavior is the polar opposite of her mother, th<\/mark>e <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/leopards-of-yala\/welmal-kema-43-female\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Welmalkema 4:3 female<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">This female has been the most seen and most photographed leopard between 2018 and 2019, around the South of Y\u0101la block 1. She was first seen around the \u016araniya area in May 2017. Then her mother took her to the Welmalkema area. By  December 2019, the<\/mark> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/leopards-of-yala\/rathmal-wala-44-female\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Rathmal Wala 4:4 female<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">and Welamlkema 4:4 female started sharing the same territory and living in harmony around \u016araniya road (Considering the territorial nature of leopards, this is an unprecedented behavior). In January 2020, we were able to observe the same sighting, again! <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">In 2020, she was seen several times with the<\/mark> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/leopards-of-yala\/kaluwara-bokkuwa-23-male\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Kaluwara B\u014dkkuwa 2:3 male<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>, <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">around <strong>Welmalkema and adjacent areas<\/strong>. <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">In August 2021 she was seen and photographed with her first litter cub of female<\/mark> <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/leopards-of-yala\/maliththan-kotu-wala-33-female\/\" target=\"_blank\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Maliththan-Kotu Wala 3:3 female<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Meantime in October 2021, her mother<\/mark> <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leopardtrails.com\/leopardsofyala\/leopards-of-yala\/welmal-kema-43-female\/\" target=\"_blank\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Welmalkema 4:3 female<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">was found dead around Uraniya plain.<\/mark> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">This female continued to make sightings with her cub in her territory in late 2021 and early 2022.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">She was observed and photographed around the same area with her second litter of three cubs, in August 2022. Only one of them survived to adulthood, which is Idhdha Gala 4:4 Feamale.
