Kosgasmankada 2:3 Male [YM 12/Hunter]

Due to the pressure from other big males around in his initial territory he had to move to the Southeast of the park. He was such a talented performer as he possessed the skills to make two successful buffalo calf kills around Gōnalahaba Ground in January 2018, and at Yāla Wewa in April 2018.

Korawak Wewa 3:3 Male

Korawak Wewa 3:3 Male has a very peculiar movement pattern. First photographed at Modhara Gala, Sathmaga, and Darshana Wewa. He has also been photographed at Korawak Wewa. He was noted as a very confident leopard.

Korawak Wewa 3:3 Female

Korawak Wewa 3:3 female was first seen and photographed in mid-2015, at Korawak Wewa. Again, in December 2016, she was spotted and photographed. She was a very shy female, even then.

Kohombagas Wala 2:3 Female (2011)

Kohombagas Wala 2:3 female was first photographed in February 2012, near Kotigala. Few sightings were recorded closer to Kohombagas Wala also. There are no further records of her apart from the above sightings.

Kochchipathana 2:2 Male

Kochchipathana 2-2 male was first photographed in March 2017, close to the Kochchipathana Army Barrier at the end of the Katagamuwa Wildlife Sanctuary.

Katagamuwa 3:4 Male [YM 34/Kai]

Katagamuwa 3-4 male was first photographed in March 2018, in the Katagamuwa Buffer Zone. Though he was a confident male, there are no confirmed sightings of this male after that time.

Katagamuwa 3:4 Female

Katagamuwa 3:4 female was first seen and photographed in late 2014, just outside the Katagamuwa Park Entrance in the Katagamuwa Wildlife Sanctuary. Even by that time, she was old.

Kaetegal Wala 2:3 Male (2014) [YM 14/Bahal]

This male cub was first photographed in July 2014, in Jamburagala Road and Kaetegal Wala, showing great confidence in front of the safari jeeps. In November 2014, he was seen near Mahaseelawa.

Karawgas Wala 4:4 Female [YF 14/Geema or Grace]

Karawgas Wala 4:4 female was first photographed in November 2014, around Ūraniya and Karawgas Wala. She was photographed with the Rathmal Wala 4:5 male (Harak Hora/Cattle Thief when it was just a sub-adult male), playing on a rock, in November 2015.

Medha Para 2:4 Female (2005-2014)

She has proven herself as a successful mother by raising her cubs up to adulthood. Those cubs also grew up to be successful mothers with the passage of time. This female was seen originally around Medha Pāra, close to the Karuwala Bōkkuwa in November 2009.

Kaluwara Bōkkuwa 3:4 Female (2017/18)

Kaluwara Bokkuwa 3:4 female was born in late 2017, with her brother. This female grew very shy while her brother became brave and outgoing. Until March 2019, there were only a few sightings of this female around Kaluwara Bōkkuwa, Rawum Wala (in Medha Pāra), Gōnalahaba Ground, Suduwelimulla, and Yāla Wewa.

Kaluwara Bōkkuwa 2:3 Male (2017/18) [YM 43/Steve]

Kaluwara Bōkkuwa 2:3 male was born in late 2017, with his sister. He grew to be well extroverted while his sister was a bit introverted. By mid-2019, this male cub and his mother started to move towards the South of Yāla block 1. In 2020, he was seen exploring a large area including Ūraniya, Welmalkema, and Kotigala.

Jamburagala 4:5 Male [YM 03/Chandare]

He took over the territory of the previous dominant male of the same area, who was the Jamburagala 3:3 male, aka “Ivan” (Eye-One) after he left. He was easily distinguishable due to his highly faded face where patches of fur were missing.

Jamburagala 3:3 Male [YM 02/Pottaya or Eyeone]

Already in his prime when we first saw him in 2009, this impressive male stood out due to his missing left eye. This injury is what caused him to be named Ivan (Eye-One). The southern part of Yāla was run by Ivan and notable areas included the Palatupāna Entrance, Pattiya Wala, Mahaseelawa, Jamburagala, Heen Wewa, Ondaatje Bungalow, Magul Mahā Vihāra, and up to Bambāwa.

Jamburagala 3:2 Female [YF 49/Nora]

Jamburagala 3:2 female was first photographed in November 2017, at the Jamburagala Road. She is not a frequently seen female therefore the existing photographic evidence is not adequate.
