Heen Wewa 2:2 Male (2020) [YM 57/Suba]

Heen Wewa 2:2 male (2020) was first photographed for identification in mid-2020 around the Heen Wewa bungalow with his brother Henn Wewa 2:2 male.

Female

Y – Junction 2:2 Female 2 (2016) [YF 12/Sasha]

She was first sighted as a roughly 2/3-month-old cub, on the 27th of August, 2016, crossing the road from Warahana 2nd water hole towards the Mōdharagala side with her sister, the Y – Junction 2-2 female 1 and her mother, Thalgasmankada 2:3 female.

Weera Wala 2:3 Male (2020) [YM 54/Sherlock]

Weera Wala 2:3 male was first photographed in June 2020, at New Road. He is a curious cub but still, he is not the most comfortable in the presence of safari vehicles. His mother is Y – Junction 2:2 female 2 and this is her first known litter.

Wilapalawa 2:3 Male (2018) [YM 47/Julius]

Wilapalawa 2:3 male was born in late 2018, around Wilapalawa and Mahaseelawa. He is a bold male and earned the Most Photographed Leopard title for the year 2020. He was such a performer, showing a great attitude and confidence in the presence of safari vehicles.

Weli Wala 2:3 Male (2020) [YM 49/Krish]

Weli Wala 2:3 male was first seen and photographed in early 2020. We assume he was born in late 2019. It took some time to find out the mother of this male as she was very shy. His mother is the Weli Wala 4:3 female.

Female

Thelambu Kema 2:2 Female (2019) [YF 51/Machi]

This female cub was first sighted at Thelambu Kema in early June 2019, with her mother, the Thelabu Kema 3:3 female, as a 2/3 months old cub. Again in July 2019, this cub was seen by herself, around the same area. She showed to be quite outgoing even at that time.

Palugas Wala 4:2 Female (2018) [YF 47/Jessi]

Palugas Wala 4:2 female was born in late 2018, around Karawgas Wala and Ūraniya area with another sibling. Early September 2020, she was seen at Galalukada Wewa. Seems like she was looking for a territory out there, due to the high density of leopards in her birthplace. Anyways, she was seen again around Buthawa plain, Karawgas Wala, Ūraniya, and Welmalkema since the beginning of 2021.

Padi Kema 3:3 Male (2018/19) [YM 46/Hans]

Padi Kema 3:3 male was born in late 2018 around the Ruk Vila area. In January 2020, there was this amazing sighting of this young male making a perfectly executed wild boar kill around the Digan Wala area. He was sighted again, killing a grey langur at Meynert Wewa.

Lōlugas Wala 3:4 Female (2018) [YF 46/Jane]

Lōlugas Wala 3:4 female was first seen in November 2018, as a very young cub with her two brothers. In late 2020, she started to move towards the Palatupana Entrance and was sighted around Wilapalawa and Mahaseelawa.

Male

Lōlugas Wala 4:3 Male (2018) [YM 44/Jerry]

The new king of the North, Lōlugas Wala 4:3 male was first seen in November 2018 as a very young cub with his two siblings. By mid-2020, he started to explore new areas that were away from his mother’s territory. This male was seen at Gōnagala Wewa in September 2020 and he moved back to Kotigala in October 2020.

Lōlugas Wala 2:2 Male (2018) [YM 45/Josh]

Lōlugas Wala 2:2 male was first seen in November 2018, as a very young cub with his two siblings. Though his two siblings were seen recently, this male was last seen in early 2020. They were seen around Ūraniya road, Debaragas Wala, Lōlugas Wala, Palugas Wala 1&2, Siyambalagas Wala, Welmalkema, and Kotigala.

Female

Kudāseelawa 2:2 Female (2019) [YF 52/Jessica]

Kudāseelawa 2:2 female was born in late 2019, with her sister, the Kudāseelawa 1:2 female. They have been the celebrities of the South of Yāla block 1 for the year 2020. They are frequently seen around Kudāseelawa, Mahaseelawa, Weli Āra, Pattiya Wala, Jamburagala Road, and Tanki Gala. They were observed with the Wilapalawa 2:3 male several times.

Female

Kudāseelāwa 1:2 Female (2019) [YF 53/Judy]

Kudāseelawa 1:2 female was born in late 2019, with her sister, the Kuādseelawa 2:2 female. They have been the celebrities of the South of Yala block 1 for the year 2020. They are frequently seen around Kudāseelawa, Mahaseelawa, Weli Āra, Pattiya Wala, Jamburagala Road, and Tanki Gala.

Male

Komā Wewa 3:2 Male (2018/19) [YM 41/Brian]

Komā Wewa 3:2 male was born in late 2018, around Komā Wewa. He was seen around Komā Wewa, Kotasiyabale, and Maila Wala of Medha Pāra. In November 2019, he was seen at Thalgasmankada, Darshana Wewa Junction, and Warahana. Since then, there haven’t been many sightings of this male.

Divul Kaele 3:3 Male (2019) [YM 48/Samuel]

Divul Kaele 3:3 male was born in early 2019, around the Y – Junction with his sister, the Divul Kaele 2:2 female. When compared with his sister, he is quite shy. By September 2020, part of this his right ear lobe was missing.
