[Kudāseelawa = name of an area]
Kudāseelawa 2:2 female was born in 2019, with her sister, the Kudāseelawa 1:2 female. They have been the celebrities of the South of Yāla block 1 for the year 2020. Their mother is the Bōla Gala 2:2 female who is a shy female. This is her second known litter.
They are frequently seen around Kudāseelawa, Mahaseelawa, Weli Āra, Pattiya Wala, Jamburagala Road, and Tanki Gala. They were observed with the Wilapalawa 2:3 male several times. This female and her sister were seen around the above-mentioned areas in the early half of 2021 and were seen making a few successful huntings.
Though the two sisters separated in mid-2021 they made continuous appearances. She was seen with an injury on her right flank in February 2022 but it was not serious. By mid-2022 she started to make continuous sightings around Kotigala indicating her movement towards North from her born area. [Her sister was occupying their born area by this time, and their mother moving more south.]
Since August 2022 this female started to explore the RukVila/Padikema area. By this time Rukvila 3:4 Female was raising her last litter of two cubs. The time was ripe for the Kudaseelawa female to slowly sneak into the old queen’s territory. Since early 2023 old Rukvila female has not been seen implying she is no more. At the same time, Kudaseelawa female’s sightings were more frequent in the area suggesting she is the new queen of the picturesque Patanagala and Rukvila area.
In July 2023 she was seen with her first known litter, a single cub within the Rukvila area. The mother and cub duo were frequently seen around Buthawa and Rukvila.
In April 2025 this female was seen with her latest litter of a single cub close to Buthawa area.
