Kotābendi Wewa 1:2 female is a fairly confident female who was originally photographed at Kotābendi Wewa, hence its designation. Since then, she has been sighted at the Thalgasmankada Bungalow Road, Campsite Road, Pan Wala, Kotābendi Wewa, Komā Wewa, and the Northwestern stretch of Medha Pāra reaching roughly up to Mayila Wala.
In April 2014, she was seen mating with the Medha Pāra 2:3 male in the Kotābendi Wewa area. In 2015, she birthed a single female cub (Kotābendi Wewa 2:3 female), who was born with the same confident air as her mother. This proved quite beneficial and provided us with some brilliant opportunities to view both of them together in their element. In November 2016, she was seen mating with Medha Pāra 2:3 male again. In August 2017, she was spotted with two young male cubs around the Thelambugas Wala area of Medha Pāra. Those two cubs grew up to be the Pan Wala 2:2 male and the Pan Wala 3:3 male.
In January 2018, she was seen with an injured jaw and a half tail, which was most probably caused due to a wild boar attack. Nevertheless, she still managed to raise her two male cubs up to adulthood, proving herself as an ideal mother figure worthy of respect.
In April 2019, she was observed mating with the Medha Pāra 2:3 male around the Thalgasmankada area and in June 2019, around the Komā Wewa area.
In February 2021 her third known litter, a 4-5 months old female cub was seen and photographed. Unfortunately, she was found dead in June 2021, and her death was caused by a highly venomous snake bite under her neck. Even though she is no more, her brave bloodline is continued in Yala Block 1 in the name of the legendary Pan Wala 2:2 male (YM 16/Lucas) who still reigns as the dominant male in the south-east of Yala Block 1.
