[Weera= Sepiaria berry tree (Drypetes sepiaria), Wala = water hole]
Weera Wala 2:3 male was first photographed in June 2020, at New Road. His mother is the Y – Junction 2:2 female 2 and this is her first known litter.
He was seen around New Road, Kohombakema, Pemdas Vila, and Sathmaga. With time he became comfortable around safari vehicles. There were so many good sightings of this young male around the above-mentioned areas.
Since the latter part of 2021, he started to explore new areas. He was seen around Warahana several times in December 2021 and January 2022. Modharagala and Darshana Wewa areas have become his favorites to settle down. In February 2022, he made a buffalo calf kill around Darshana Wewa bund.
Later he started to move South-west from his mother’s territory in March 2022. In the same month, he was seen feeding on a buffalo calf kill around the Sathvila area. He was seen around Pemdaswila, Kohomba-kama, and New Road in the latter half of 2022.
In 2023, he was trying to find a territory around Heen Wewa, Galalukada Wewa, and the adjacent areas.
